Each 3hour taster workshop costs £25 each plus materials where stated. Booking is recommended.

MORNING WORKSHOPS

TUESDAY 8th  10am-1pm 

Jewellery Making with Annie Coombs.

Make your own sterling silver earrings. This workshop will cover basic silver working techniques in order for you to produce your own drop or stud earrings. Materials £5 ( plus an opportunity to buy more silver should you want to make something large)


WEDNESDAY 9th  10am-1pm

Bath bomb making with Louise Zlotnicki

Learn how to create your own natural bath bombs. Materials £3


THURSDAY 10th  10am-1pm

Screen printing on fabric with Amanda Partridge. 

Design and create a paper stencil and print it with colourfast inks onto a fabric bag. Materials £5

THURSDAY 10th  10am-1pm

Loom knitting for beginners with Althea Price.

Make your very own loom knitted bracelet.


FRIDAY 11th  10am-1pm

Introduction to observing and recording nature's details in pencil and watercolours with Claire Ward.

Working with seasonal subject matter, September brings autumnal fruits and hedgerow items. Any skill level welcome, previous drawing or sketching an advantage. Materials £4


SATURDAY 12th  10am-1pm

Rag rug flower brooches with Sue Clow 

Learn how to make hooked and prodded rugs and to combine the two techniques to make rag rug flowers and corsages. Materials £3




SUNDAY 13th  10am-1pm

Introduction to up-cycling with Samantha Boulanger. 

Learn the basics of up-cycling, starting with various ways to make corsage flower brooches. (please bring own sewing machine if you can) Materials £5 



MONDAY 14th  10am-1pm

Basic Silver jewellery making with Peter Whipp.

Learn how to make your very own basic but unique silver band ring. Materials £10

AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS

TUESDAY 8th  2pm-5pm 

Bookbinding for beginners with Carole King. 

Learn how to make two simple books. Take home a simple pamphlet book with a soft cover and a concertina book suitable as a sketch book, photo album or scrap book.



WEDNESDAY 9th  2pm-5pm

Introduction to standing wool rag rug making with Rosemary Stow. 

Using strips of up-cycled woolen scarves, skirts, jumpers or blankets, students will make a trivet and/or a pair of coasters. Materials £5

THURSDAY 10th  2pm-5pm

Intermediate patchwork class with Karen's Quilts. 

An easy method of making half square triangles which will be put together to make a cushion cover. Materials £5 


FRIDAY 11th  2pm-5pm

Recycled plastic bag hat making with Ruby Roberts 

This workshop uses heat from an iron to fuse layers of plastic together to create a free standing hat. Plastic bags supplied but participants can bring their own choice of coloured and patterned bags. Also please brng your own iron if you can. Materials £3


SATURDAY 12th  2pm-5pm

Make a wet felted picture with Ali Scott. 

Learn the basic wet felting technique to create a small picture. A landscape or simple design using merino wool tops. Bring a photo, drawing or image for inspiration, a carrier bag to carry wet work home, an old sponge and towel to keep your work area dry. Materials £5

SUNDAY 13th  2pm-5pm

Introduction to Marbling; cloud art or spilled ink with Jude Riley. 

A fun session covering the basics of paper marbling. Manipulate floating colours into an endless variety of patterns before lifting the design onto a sheet of paper. Participants will take home several sheets of marbled paper and just for fun a marbled terracotta plant pot. Materials £5

MONDAY 14th  2pm-5pm

Felt flower making with Sarah Fisher.

Learn how to make a felt flower brooch using merino fleece, they can be embellished with other fibres such as silk, bamboo, scrim, beads and stitching to add further colour, decoration and texture. Sarah will bring a range of coloured fleece and a heap of colourful bits and pieces to choose from. Materials £2.50
